Holiday Season Rant

Well, here it is again that time of year we all love so much the Holiday Season! It all starts after Halloween and we move into Thanksgiving and into Christmas and top it off with a brand new year. I myself love the holidays. I love Christmas music, I love it so much I start listening around August and I keep it up until New Years day and then it goes away for another 8 months.

Not to say that I do not feel the stress of the holidays. Money is always tight for me anyway. I am the sole source of income in my house and it never fails that right before Christmas when I think I have it all worked out something comes up to sap my financial plan, This year it is dental Bill's. Money I thought I would have for Christmas has now been funneled to a more needed area. So what am I to do? Well Work more hours is an option, but since I already average about 100 hours a week it is kind of hard to squeeze it in anywhere. My wife is the miracle worker because somehow she will make it all work out. So I guess I shouldn't worry and enjoy the holidays.

My Brother goes to Iraq in August so he will not be home for Christmas next year. This bums me out but it also kind of worries me. For some reason those non Iraqi insurgents do not like Americans. But from what I am hearing through the media the Iraqis are starting to get sick of the insurgents, so maybe they will start trying to get rid of the insurgents so we can bring our troops home. Sounds good to me! I know that this will be a good deal for the middle east when democracy takes hold. I know it will not be the same democracy that we have in the USA, but it shouldn't be the same, it should be unique to the people of that region and suited to them. I do know that women need to be treated better all over the world but especially in the Arab countries.

I do think that after things settle down in the middle east we need our troops home and then we need to withdraw from the united nations and secure our own borders. Deport all individuals that are here illegally and make them go through the proper process to gain citizenship. I am not against immigrants just the illegal's. Some say the United States would collapse without the labor of the illegals, if this is the case then we need to revamp our economic structure and make it work with American labor. Our children have gotten so lazy that they do not even know what work is, they expect a handout where ever they go. "Mom and Dad will take care of me and all my needs and when they can't the government will pick up the slack", this is the wrong liberal mentality and it has to change. "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach the man to fish and feed him for life", I know that I plan to make a difference with my kids and that is why I school them at home. Well at least that's why my wife teaches them at home, family values not values dictated by the government.
